বিনোদন জগতে exclusive — Jamie Lever on Living Beyond Johny Lever's Name — Being Judged for Her Weight & More নিয়ে এখন বেশ আলোচনা। সিনেমাওয়ালায় আমরা খবরটা নিজস্ব ভাষায় সাজিয়ে তুলেছি।
Jamie Lever has inherited her father’s comic timing, but she’s carved a space that’s entirely her own।
Warm, witty and refreshingly self-aware, she speaks with the same honesty that she brings to the stage।
Whether she’s talking about mimicry, family, faith or fame, there’s an easy charm and humility to her।
Behind the laughter is someone who’s constantly learning, deeply empathetic and convinced that comedy, at its heart, is an act of love।
Excerpts from a fun conversation with the performer...Your father once challenged you to prove yourself and that led you to your career in comedy।
I did everything the “good daughter” was supposed to do।
I went to London, studied further, got a proper corporate job... and still woke up thinking, “This can’t be it!” I’d spend my evenings at comedy clubs watching stand-up and secretly judging the comedians।
I’d think, Arre, these jokes aren’t even that funny।
Around that time, Papa came to the UK for a show।

I told him I wanted to become a comedian।
I’ll give you ten minutes on stage।
But I won’t tell anyone you’re my daughter.” It was terrifying।
But the audience applauded, gave me a standing ovation and that was it।
Papa finally said, “Okay, you’ve earned this.”Who was the first celebrity you ever mimicked?Asha Bhosle ji।
When I first went to Comedy Circus, they asked me to make a list of people I could imitate।
The moment they saw Asha ji’s name, they asked me to perform it।
My expressions changed, my body language changed।
Suresh Lahiri ji immediately said, “She’s even changed her face!” That one act stayed with me throughout the season।
